Two of New Zealand’s most innovative wool brands have come together in a special collaboration to launch the Woolbabe x Honest Wolf Moses Basket.

Both brands are renowned for their unique use of wool, Woolbabe for their natural, organic baby sleepwear and Honest Wolf for their range of luggage & accessories. The result of 14 months development between Honest Wolf and Woolbabe is a high-quality, safe sleeping bassinet for babies, made using felted wool sourced from Honest Wolf’s Papanui Estate station and fitted with a Woolbabe merino and organic cotton sheet.

Owner of Woolbabe, Louise Tanguay said the joint venture came together seamlessly with both brands sharing similar principles, most notably when it came to championing wool. “The collaboration with Sophie and Sam felt like a natural alignment with our shared values, ethos, and commitment to utilising natural resources, especially wool.”

The idea to collaborate on a moses basket-style bassinet came to life while Honest Wolf founder Sophie Hurley was expecting her second child. “The warmth and breathability of wool makes it the ideal fibre for a Moses basket. I’ve been a fan of Woolbabe for some time, using some of their products with both of my children, so I was thrilled to be part of this collaboration with them.”

Designed for infants from newborn to around six months or when they show signs of sitting and pulling themselves up, the moses basket provides a safe sleep environment before moving into a cot. The felted wool offers a secure and breathable fibre, known for its temperature-regulating properties, with the included latex mattress also promoting breathability and temperature regulation. Robust & durable, yet still lightweight, the Moses Basket can easily be transported around the home or when travelling further afield. It is available in a neutral grey marle to suit any nursery and is fitted with a Woolbabe merino and organic cotton sheet.
